My name is Michael and I suffered renal failure in 2014 and required a kidney transplant which i received in 2017. I was lucky enough to be eligible for a simultanious kidney pancreas transplant to help resolve my worsening (Type1) diabetic complications which included; blindness (I now use a white cane), neuropathy, cardiovascular disease and a major stroke which left me with poor right side control, weakness and the inability to balance or walk (amoungst a number other things).

This walk is something I promised myself, family and freinds that I would improve enough to take part in one day in the future. Since the life saving transplant(s), its been possible to put in the hours of daily work and therapy that was needed to walk once again. I slowly graduated from Wheelchair to gutter frame, to walking frame, to quad cane, to single cane to standing unaided and now believe I'm ready to take part in The Big Red Kidney Walk and help raise funds to give a little bit back to a cause that I firmly believe in and owe everything to. The Distance is my next challenge I will complete.

Please help me raise the needed funds to help thousands of other people that find themselves requiring Kidney Health's services. They go a long way in helping sufferers get through their own HUGE challenge.

**I am also walking in memory of my best mates father, Roy Campbell. A fellow kidney recipient who provided me with the inspiration that I needed. RIP**
